Brad Gobright e Jim Reynolds hanno salito le tre famose big wall Mount Watkins, El Cap e Half Dome in giornata.

A dare la notizia, Alex Honnold su Instagram: “Grandi complimenti a Brad Gobright e Jim Reynolds per aver scalato Mount Watkins, El Cap e Half Dome in un giorno!! – ha commentato – Ed era il compleanno di Brad! Non c’è modo migliore per festeggiare un compleanno che fare tanta arrampicata in un giorno da poterti sentire 100 anni per la prossima settimana…

Ho questa foto di @tedhesser che ha scattato l’immagine dei due grandi maestri di big wall in cima al Watkins, mentre camminavano verso la strada. Bellissimo tramonto. E grandiosa impresa di Jim e Brad. Complimenti per la tripletta!!”, ha concluso Honnold.

Sei anni fa, Alex Honnold e Tommy Caldwell avevano realizzato il “concatenamento” in 21 ore e 15′ salendo la Sud del Watkins in 2 ore 50′, Freerider su El Cap in 6 ore e 45′ e la normale dell’Half Dome in 5 ore. Poco tempo dopo, Honnold aveva ripetuto l’impresa, ma questa volta da solo, in 18 ore e 45′.

I just entered the fourth decade of my life with a spectacular Yosemite linkup with @chimney_jim ! We climbed Mt. Watkins the afternoon before, then the Nose that night and finished on the NWF of half dome in the morning. We started Watkins at 4:30 pm then finished HD at 11am the next day. Since I can’t sleep in past 6:30 am I ended up going almost 40 hours without sleep. I also realized I was 100 feet runout in the middle of the night on the boot flake the exact moment I turned 30! A big thanks to @alexhonnold and @sannimccandless for picking us up off the summit or Watkins and driving us to the base of El Cap.
