Cinema. In arrivo un film sull’alpinista peruviana Silvia Vásquez-Lavado

Il film è l’adattamento cinematografico della sua biografia

Sarà Selena Gomez, 28 anni, ad interpretare l’alpinista peruviana Silvia Vásquez-Lavado in un nuovo film dal titolo “In the Shadow of the Mountain”, tratto dall’omonima biografia di Vásquez-Lavado, prima donna omosessuale a completare le Seven Summits, le montagne più alte dei sette continenti.

Vásquez-Lavado è Fondatrice di Courageous Girls (organizzazione no-profit che assiste le vittime di abusi sessuali e prostituzione). L’alpinista peruviana organizza anche trekking al campo base del Monte Everest per donne che hanno subito abusi.

Il libro “In the Shadow of the Mountain”, scelto per l’adattamento cinematografico, uscirà nel 2022. Gomez produrrà personalmente il film attraverso la sua società July Moon Productions. Altri produttori: Scott Budnick (One Community) e la vincitrice del Premio Oscar Donna Gigliotti (Tempesta Films).

Gomez ha lavorato in “Spring Breakers” di Harmony Korine, “The Big Short” di Adam McKay e “The Dead Don’t Die” di Jim Jarmusch. Gigliotti ha vinto un Oscar per il miglior film per la produzione di “Shakespeare in Love” e ha ricevto una nomination per “The Reader”, “Silver Linings Playbook” e “Hidden Figures”. Ha anche prodotto gli Academy Awards 2019.
